Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to build a scalable finance function as the company accelerates growth in clean energy. You'll lead the month-end close, manage fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, and reporting, while partnering with Finance and Operations to implement robust controls and scalable processes in a fast-paced startup environment.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of accounting experience, US GAAP proficiency, and experience with ERP or finance systems such as

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on involvement in the month-end close and financial reporting and analysis
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office tools
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and a high tolerance for ambiguity
• Strong communicator who can work effectively across teams

Responsibilities

• Drive the month end close process end-to-end, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Own close-cycle areas including fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, accruals, payroll, and cash/bank reconciliations
• Support GL maintenance and evolving reporting structures
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and perform trend/variance analyses
• Serve as accounting resource for non-finance partners
• Contribute to process improvement and system documentation
• Support ERP/finance system implementations as needed
• Maintain accounting policies and internal controls for audit readiness
• Contribute to various projects to support business growth
