Job summary

Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA seeks a Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving to lead a growing program, manage a portfolio of 80–100 prospects, and drive the Forever Forward campaign.

Reporting to the Chief Advancement & Engagement Officer, you will develop strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of giving $25,000+ and secure multi-year commitments toward a $60 million campaign.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
• 7+ years of professional fundraising experience with major gifts and planned giving.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar donor databases highly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, proposal development, and donor stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Thayer Academy's major gifts and planned giving programs.
• Manage a portfolio of ~100 major gift prospects with personalized moves-management strategies.
• Develop compelling proposals and secure multi-year gifts and bequests.
• Collaborate with Advancement Services to document donor interactions and outcomes.
• Support the campaign strategy and work with volunteers and leadership to achieve milestones.
