Job summary

The Trustees of Reservations is seeking a Senior Major Gift Officer to lead donor engagement across Massachusetts. You will manage a portfolio of ~150 donors and prospects, cultivate relationships, and secure major gifts aligned with the For Everyone, Forever campaign.

In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Director of Philanthropy to develop tailored strategies, prepare compelling proposals, and travel for donor meetings and events across the region, helping raise over $1M annually.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of fundraising experience
• Experience managing a donor portfolio
• Proven track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Manage a regionally-based portfolio of approximately 150 major gift donors and prospects, emphasizing gifts of $25,000 or greater and building toward $1M in philanthropic commitments per year.
• Advance The Trustees' $325M+ comprehensive campaign by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors whose interests align with campaign priorities and long-term organizational needs.
• Develop individualized donor strategies that move prospects through the campaign pipeline, including qualification, cultivation, solicitation, proposal development, gift closure, and stewardship.
• Prepare donors for campaign solicitations by connecting their interests in specific properties, programs, communities, or regions to broader Trustees priorities and statewide impact.
• Identify new opportunities and aim to secure campaign commitments, unrestricted support, legacy gifts, and other flexible philanthropic investments.
