Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is expanding its Specialized Claims organization and seeking experienced professionals for the Major Case Unit. These Fully Remote positions offer a competitive salary range of 105,000–165,000 USD annually, depending on experience, technical expertise, and ability to manage high-exposure, complex claims.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; JD or equivalent accepted.
• Extensive experience handling highly complex, high-value claims.
• Strong negotiation and resolution of complex claims.
• Ability to manage litigation strategy and direct counsel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; handle sensitive issues with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead complex case investigations and negotiate high-value claims.
• Analyze coverage, liability, and financial exposure, including reserving strategy.
• Manage litigation strategy and develop tailored resolution strategies with top defense counsel.
• Serve as SME across the claim organization and mentor others.
• Evaluate training programs and recommend improvements.
• Provide reporting to underwriting and collaborate with underwriters, agents, vendors, and legal teams.
• Streamline workflows and correct inconsistencies.
• Contribute to special projects and attend industry events to stay current.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners.
