Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to provide advanced maintenance support in the plant; will train Maintenance Tech I staff and progress into multi-skilled tasks. The role emphasizes reliability improvements, GMP compliance, and safety across the maintenance function.

Shift is 6:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus several years in maintenance and basic MS Windows skills; AbbVie offers comprehensive benefits and growth

Qualifications

YHS diploma with 5+ yrs. experience or Relevant Certificate with 3+ yrs. experience or Associates technical degree with 1+ yrs. experience.
Basic computer skills (MS Windows) and ability to use basic power tools.

Responsibilities

Adhere to AbbVie’s code of conduct.
Maintains the function of department assets to ensure reliable equipment and quality standards are met.
Assists in root cause investigation and reliability centered maintenance analysis.
Capable of training others on tasks.
Must begin to demonstrate proficiency in multiple skilled trade disciplines.
Fully proficient in their core function, performing advanced level tasks.
Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization.
Supports continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or the site.
Understands and follows all safety and GMP regulations.
