Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to independently provide technical support within the maintenance department and train junior technicians on advanced tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma with extensive maintenance experience or a related certificate, with familiarity in GMP environments and strong problem-solving skills. Travel and complex projects may be involved as part of continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 10+ yrs experience or relevant certificate with 5+ yrs experience or Associate degree with 3+ yrs experience or proficient in two or more skilled maintenance functions.
• CMRT or equivalent accreditation desired
• Knowledge and ability to use advanced tools (i.e. machine tools, diagnostic tools, predictive tools)
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows). Electrical experience up to 480V is a plus.
• Relevant experience is pharmaceutical packaging or GMP environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to AbbVie’s code of conduct; Maintains the function of department assets to ensure reliable equipment and quality standards.
• Assists in root cause investigation and reliability centered maintenance analysis. Capable of training others on tasks.
• Is proficient in multiple skilled trade disciplines and creates or edits maintenance job plans.
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows).
• Fully proficient in their core function, performing advanced level tasks.
• Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization.
• Supports continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or the site.
• Understands and follows all safety and GMP regulations.
