Job summary

Bozzuto is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Parsippany, NJ properties. The role focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and security systems, while delivering excellent resident service.

Ideal candidates bring 2–5 years of maintenance experience in residential settings, HVAC and EPA certifications, and a service-minded, communicative approach. Weekend/evening on-call rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of maintenance experience in residential property management.
• HVAC and EPA certifications strongly preferred.
• HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and/or Appliance Repair expertise.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs occasionally and 25–50 lbs frequently.
• Reliable transportation; after-hours on-call rotation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with computers and various software programs.
• Service mindset and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead role in troubleshooting, make adjustments to control systems and ensure daily functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation and security systems.
• Maintain the physical asset of the property as directed by Management with a focus on advanced skills.
• Respond quickly to deficiencies found in preventative maintenance inspections.
• Work closely with Maintenance Technicians to complete the communities Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Respond to all maintenance requests within 24 hours.
• Ensure effective, professional, and timely follow up with residents, vendors and property management team on all maintenance services provided.
• Adhere to and stay current on all applicable building codes, safety standards and fair housing laws and ensure safety standards comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.
• Working weekends or evenings and being on call for after hour emergencies.
