Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to lead advanced installation, maintenance, and complex troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in our Memphis facility. This role often mentors junior staff, analyzes root causes of equipment failures, and works from schematics and technical manuals with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 4+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Strong problem solving and maintenance skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Able to work at heights and operate aerial lift equipment.
• Customer service oriented and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and fixing intricate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, often serving as the final point of escalation for complex problems.
• Performing scheduled and emergency repairs, including preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, and adapting new production equipment.
• Reading and applying complex blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand system operations.
• Guiding and training less experienced technicians on procedures and complex repairs.
• Fixing worn/damaged parts, disassembling/reassembling equipment, and testing for proper function.
• Maintaining detailed repair logs and work records, typically using a maintenance tracking software system.
• Assisting with work schedules and ordering necessary parts and supplies to minimize downtime.
• PLC logic functions involving designing, programming, installing, testing, and maintaining automated control systems.
