Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep production lines and equipment running, perform lockout/tagout, and support preventative maintenance across multiple plants. The role requires strong electrical/mechanical aptitude, PLC knowledge, and the ability to read drawings while working in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 5–7 years in a similar role, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar position.
• Completion of two-year Maintenance Certification preferred.
• Forklift experience required or TT Forklift Certification.
• Work schedule flexibility for manufacturing needs.
• Self-directed, multi-tasking in fast-paced environment.
• Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude (test results above 80%).
• Knowledge of PLC Logic technology required (test results above 70%).
• Thorough understanding of TimberTech plant support systems such as blowers, chilled water system and compressor systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production lines and equipment to run at all times.
• Maintain guarding and safety equipment on production lines.
• Perform Lock out/Tag out procedures and energy isolation with photo ID.
• Support and assist preventative maintenance on shift.
• Record daily tasks on the white board and log work completed.
• Assist line commissioning after maintenance or process events.
• Support other plant projects as needed.
• Work across Rail, PVC, or Wood Plant with minimal instruction.
• Operate in a way that adds value to the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision/management.
