Job summary

The City of Ridgeland is seeking an advanced-level building and grounds maintenance worker. The role includes leadership in maintenance tasks across municipal buildings, parks and related facilities, with occasional operation of trucks and construction equipment.

Work may be supervised by a crew leader and checked in-progress or on completion. Responsibilities include various trades, cleaning, debris removal, and potential evenings/weekends due to staffing needs or emergencies.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of mathematics through general math.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Understanding of safety practices and proper handling of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform semiskilled duties in maintenance and repair of municipal facilities, parks, and related areas.
• Assist in cleaning, debris removal, and landscaping.
• Operate basic vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Lead and train new staff as assigned.
