Job summary

City of Ridgeland is seeking an advanced-level maintenance worker responsible for building and grounds maintenance across municipal facilities, with leadership duties and multi-trade tasks.

The role may involve operation of trucks and construction equipment, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, and supervision of staff as needed. A high school diploma and three years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in building maintenance or related field.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of mathematics and general safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform semiskilled duties in construction, maintenance, and repair of municipal buildings, parks, and facilities.
• Assist maintenance staff in streets/drainage and water/sewer tasks.
• Lead and train new employees as assigned.
• Operate hand and power tools and basic equipment.
• Ensure safety and proper upkeep of work sites.
