Job summary

The Oaks Rehabilitation and Healthcare seeks a Maintenance Technician for its Meridian, Mississippi facility. This full-time, onsite role ensures the building remains safe, comfortable, and in good working order for residents, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance with nursing, performing repairs and preventive tasks, supporting refurbishing projects, and monitoring systems and grounds. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 8:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in building trades/maintenance preferred.
• Working knowledge of common tools and maintenance software.
• Preferred skills: HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and service-minded problem solver.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician helps ensure our Meridian, Mississippi facility remains safe, comfortable, and in good working order for residents, visitors, and staff. This full-time, onsite role supports daily operations through timely service and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Key responsibilities include coordinating maintenance needs with nursing, completing routine repairs and preventive maintenance, supporting refurbishing projects, maintaining grounds, monitoring building systems and equipment, and assisting with safety inspections, tests, and drills. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

Daily Rhythm

Your day typically begins with reviewing overnight notes and any new service requests, then planning priorities to minimize disruption in resident areas. You’ll move between resident spaces, common areas, and mechanical rooms, documenting updates as you go and communicating status clearly to the appropriate teams. Midday may include checking critical systems for steady performance and walking the exterior to confirm walkways and grounds are orderly. Before you wrap up, you’ll close out open items, stage materials for the next day.
