Job summary

City of Richmond is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform intermediate semiskilled upkeep across City parks, facilities and grounds. Work is done under moderate supervision of the Park Assistant Superintendent.

Responsibilities include maintaining buildings and terrains, operating backhoes and trucks, and performing repairs as needed. The role requires endurance and reliable teamwork in a busy municipal setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Maintains buildings, grounds, athletic fields, tracks, and playgrounds, including painting and landscaping.
• Cleans and services rest rooms and collects trash in park facilities.
• Inspects and maintains park facilities and equipment, performing minor repairs as needed.
• Performs maintenance in the Downtown area and City building, including sweeping, mowing, pruning, and painting.
• Operates trucks/equipment: backhoe, bobcat, dump truck, chipper, tractors, mowers, and power tools.
• Assists with other projects and general maintenance as required.
