Job summary

Sila, a next-generation battery materials company, is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to keep our high-tech manufacturing equipment running reliably. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and support uptime across shift-based operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, training or certifications in mechanics, and proven industrial experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications preferred.
• Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems including wiring, motors, and PLC troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with tools, diagnostic equipment, and blueprints or schematics.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations including LOTO.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments of equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, performing timely repairs to minimize disruptions.
• Collaborate with production teams to fine-tune machinery for improved efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventories using CMMS.
• Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and ensure equipment meets OSHA and company standards.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns or urgent repair needs, working to restore operations as quickly as possible.
• Assist with the installation and testing of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems.
• Work closely with engineers, machine operators, and other mechanics to resolve issues and plan long-term maintenance strategies.
• Share knowledge and expertise with team members, providing guidance on proper equipment use and care.
• Comfortable working in a shift-based system, including weekends and overtime as required.
