Sila in Moses Lake, WA is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to lead the maintenance program and maximize uptime of manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires strong problem-solving, adherence to safety (LOTO), and collaboration with production and engineering teams. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • Proven maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems incl. hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with blueprints/schematics and CMMS usage.
  • Adherence to safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, lubricate, and adjust equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and perform timely repairs.
  • Collaborate with production to fine-tune machinery for efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventories using CMMS.
  • Follow safety protocols, including LOTO, and ensure OSHA/com pany standards.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and restore operations quickly.
  • Assist with installation and testing of new equipment or upgrades.
  • Work with engineers, operators, and other mechanics on long-term plans.
  • Share knowledge with team members and provide guidance on equipment care.
  • Adhere to shift-based work including weekends and overtime as required.

Our Maintenance Mechanics are key members of our operations team, responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems. Ideal candidates have strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments of equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, performing timely repairs to minimize disruptions
  • Collaborate with production teams to fine-tune machinery for improved efficiency, quality, and productivity
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventories using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensure equipment meets OSHA and company standards
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns or urgent repair needs, working to restore operations as quickly as possible
  • Assist with the installation and testing of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems
  • Work closely with engineers, machine operators, and other mechanics to resolve issues and plan long-term maintenance strategies
  • Share knowledge and expertise with team members, providing guidance on proper equipment use and care
  • Comfortable working in a shift-based system, including weekends and overtime as required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certifications in mechanics, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, motors, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with tools, diagnostic equipment, and blueprints or schematics.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including LOTO procedures.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basis
  • Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
  • Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
  • Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
  • Reach low shelves or items on the floor
  • Enter spaces narrower than 3 feet
  • Climb stairs or over containment walls
  • Precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities
  • Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location

The starting base pay for this role is between $37/hr and $47/hr at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for overtime.
