Job summary

Sila, a next-generation battery materials company, is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to keep our high-tech manufacturing equipment running reliably. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and support uptime across shift-based operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, training or certifications in mechanics, and proven industrial experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications preferred.
Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems including wiring, motors, and PLC troubleshooting.
Familiarity with tools, diagnostic equipment, and blueprints or schematics.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations including LOTO.
Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments of equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, performing timely repairs to minimize disruptions.
Collaborate with production teams to fine-tune machinery for improved efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventories using CMMS.
Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and ensure equipment meets OSHA and company standards.
Respond promptly to breakdowns or urgent repair needs, working to restore operations as quickly as possible.
Assist with the installation and testing of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems.
Work closely with engineers, machine operators, and other mechanics to resolve issues and plan long-term maintenance strategies.
Share knowledge and expertise with team members, providing guidance on proper equipment use and care.
Comfortable working in a shift-based system, including weekends and overtime as required.
