Job description

TheMaintenance Technicianis responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, facility systems, and supporting infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting continuous improvement across the facility.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery, tools, and facility systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using proper tools and testing equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective components such as motors, bearings, sensors, valves, belts, and wiring.
  • Calibrate, adjust, and align equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime.
  • Work closely with machine operators and supervisors to identify recurring issues.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Assist with installation and startup of new equipment.
Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Follow established PM schedules and document all completed work.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in logs or digital systems.
  • Support continuous improvement of PM procedures.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE guidelines.
  • Ensure repairs and installations comply with electrical, mechanical, and safety standards.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment hazards, or near‑miss incidents immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
Facility Support
  • Perform general facility maintenance including lighting, plumbing, HVAC support, and building repairs.
  • Assist with inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance workspace.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various environments (heat, noise, heights).
Preferred
  • Technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLCs, automation, or control systems.
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or TPM principles.

Working Conditions

  • May require overtime, on‑call rotation, or shift work depending on facility needs.
