Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Durham, NC seeks a Sr. Maintenance Technician for VMF operations.

The role covers maintenance in sterile, clean room environments with 12-hour day shifts (6:00am–6:30pm) on a 2-2-3 rotation, including weekends. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, PMs, CMMS documentation, and collaboration with Quality and Production teams. Minimum 4 years in equipment maintenance, HS diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Education minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Technical School Diploma or Associate Degree.
• A minimum of four (4) years of equipment maintenance experience.
• Proficiency with DeltaV and computer fluency.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on GMP manufacturing equipment.
• Document work in SAP/CMMS and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Install, repair, and calibrate mechanical and process equipment.
• Troubleshoot deviations and support production during shifts.
• Provide guidance and training to other team members.
• Assist with new equipment installations and validations.
