Job summary

Merck & Co. is hiring a FF VMF Maintenance Sr. Technician for the Day shift (6:00am–6:30pm) in Durham, NC. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining VMF equipment in aseptic and clean-room environments, with a 12-hour rotation and weekend/holiday coverage.

The successful candidate will have at least four years of equipment maintenance experience and proficiency with DeltaV, SAP, and GMP procedures. A technical degree is preferred; local candidates are expected to work on-site.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of four (4) years of equipment maintenance or related experience.
• Thorough computer fluency with strong DeltaV knowledge.
• Experience in a clean room or GMP-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with Clean Utility systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment in a manufacturing setting, including utility and GMP production equipment.
• Perform predictive maintenance and troubleshooting, including off-shift and after-hours support.
• Document all maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (SAP).
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members; participate in equipment installations and upgrades.
