Job summary
The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the New Lenox DC to maintain, install, and repair facility and automation equipment. You will oversee complex maintenance tasks and coordinate with Facilities Manager to minimize downtime.
Qualifications include 5+ years in a similar role, welding skills (MIG and Stick), and proficiency with MS Outlook and conveyor systems software. The position requires the ability to operate forklifts and other powered equipment, with overtime
Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience in a similar role.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise for mechanical equipment.
- Ability to MIG and Stick Weld safely and effectively.
- Operate powered equipment including yard trucks and forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance/repairs on powered industrial equipment and conveyor systems.
- Inspect the work performed by others on the Maintenance team and reprioritize as needed.
- Communicate status to Facilities Manager and Operations leaders.
- Lead/coordinate project work to support warehouse daily operations.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance with third party vendors.
- Train maintenance team members as needed.
