Job summary
The Michaels Companies is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Tech III to maintain and repair facility and automation equipment at the New Lenox DC. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on conveyors, air systems, and building utilities to minimize downtime.
Must have 5+ years in a similar role, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to lead others. Overtime and off-shift work may be required to support operations. Safety first and clear handoffs are essential.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of related maintenance experience in a similar role.
- Advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
- Ability to lead a team and communicate status clearly.
- Experience with conveyor systems and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on powered equipment and conveyors.
- Inspect work and re-prioritize tasks to meet downtime goals.
- Coordinate with Facilities Manager and Operations on repairs.
- Lead project work and train teammates as needed.
- Operate and maintain yard trucks, forklifts, and maintenance vehicles.
