Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Camby, IN to keep facility equipment running smoothly and drive continuous improvements. The role oversees maintenance staff, schedules preventive maintenance, and ensures safety/compliance across operations.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues, overseeing PLC control systems, and managing budgets with the Production Manager. On-site with potential overtime; training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Minimum 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment in production.
• Minimum 2 years supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
• Maintenance administration experience: planning, budgeting, vendor management, parts management.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics required.
• Ability to read maintenance literature in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Experience with hand & power tools required.
• Lockout / Tagout experience required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action by using blueprints, schematics, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints and manuals with a documented schedule.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and logging.
• Manage and assign all equipment maintenance and after-hours repairs.
• Oversee safety and regulatory compliance within maintenance.
• Train and develop maintenance staff; maintain CMMS usage.
