Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Maintenance Specialist III in Vernon, TX. The role performs complex building maintenance across trades including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and related systems to ensure safe, reliable campus operations.

Responsibilities include inspections, repairs, and renovations; maintaining work orders; and training staff. Requires vocational trade training and a valid Texas driver license.

Qualifications

• Vocational training in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related trades required.
• Two years of construction/maintenance/equipment repair experience with at least two trades.
• Valid Texas driver license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, adjust, maintain and repair building systems per codes for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding and painting.
• Perform renovations and repairs to modernize buildings and systems.
• Estimate materials, labor, and order parts as needed.
• Maintain accurate work orders and records.
• Operate heavy machinery when required and train others as needed.
