Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin is seeking a Maintenance Specialist IV to maintain and renovate building systems at Austin State Hospital. The role includes overseeing repairs, inspections, and project work on facilities, with an evening shift and additional days as needed.

You will ensure safety, document work orders, and collaborate with care teams to support reliable campus operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in construction, maintenance, or equipment/vehicle repair.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver license.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced restoration, renovation, and building maintenance work.
• Inspect, adjust, install, and repair building systems and equipment.
• Lead workers on projects; establish schedules and oversee renovations.
• Maintain records of work orders, projects, and material requisitions.
• Ensure safety and compliance with codes and standards.
