Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm is seeking a Maintenance Specialist IV at the San Antonio State Hospital to perform advanced restoration, renovation, and maintenance on building systems. The role requires supervision of staff, coordination of projects, and adherence to safety standards in a complex hospital environment.

Daily work includes inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems, with documentation of work orders and materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience in construction, maintenance, or equipment/vehicle repair (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, etc).
• Ability to supervise work and coordinate teams on projects.
• Knowledge of building systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly advanced restoration, renovation, and maintenance work on buildings and systems.
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs fire alarm and sprinkler systems, electrical, plumbing, and related components.
• Establishes work schedules and oversees repairs or renovations as a lead worker.
• Maintains records for work orders, projects, and material requisitions.
• Operates hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment; documents activities and outcomes.
