Job summary

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled Maintenance Repairman 2 to support campus facilities. You will work with the Building Maintenance Foreman on repairs, fabrications, and routine inspections to keep buildings, machinery, and equipment functioning smoothly.

The job emphasizes carpentry and electrical work, teamwork, and attentive workmanship. Hours are Thursday to Monday, with some schedule flexibility to meet campus needs; a strong work ethic and detail orientation

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or four years in building and plant maintenance with at least two trades (building/electrical/mechanical).
• Valid PA Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50 lb minimum and extensive hand coordination.
• Ability to work in inclement weather.
• Proficiency in reading and writing; clear communication.
• Knowledge of carpentry and electrical trades; basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Operate and use required machinery, tools, and equipment per trade regulations.
• Repair, replace and install screen doors and windows; install doors and locksets.
• Replace glass in sash windows; repair channel and tube balances.
• Repair wood/tile flooring and install VCT tile; repair locks and cylinders.
• Construct walls, hang drywall, and spackle; wood and drywall projects.
• Repair tables, chairs, bleachers, and athletic equipment.
• Construct classrooms and offices; install shelving and track for draperies; ceiling tiles.
• Collaborate with painters on painting tasks.
• Repair roofs with shingles and assist in laying concrete.
• Lead and determine work methods with basic instruction; follow sketches/diagrams.
