Job summary

Sonoco in Hartselle, AL is seeking a Senior Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician (IMRT) for the 3rd shift. The role centers on owning Sonoco's Maintenance Excellence Process to maximize plant reliability through proactive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Extensive multi-craft skills across mechanical, electrical, and automation domains are required. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize equipment, participate in safety and 5S initiatives, and document

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in industrial maintenance and robotics.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and PLC logic.
• NFPA 70E electrical safety knowledge.
• Welding and machining skills beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

• Understand safety policies and set a standard for safe behavior.
• Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.
• Install and troubleshoot drives/motors; modify PLC programs as needed.
• Weld and fabricate electrical, piping, pneumatic, and mechanical components.
• Document maintenance activities in CMMS; build asset history database.
• Drive Preventive/Predictive Maintenance and contribute to continuous improvement.
