Job summary

Sonoco in Hartselle, AL is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician to support maximum plant reliability by performing proactive maintenance and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. The role requires strong root cause analysis, CMMS documentation, and collaboration with operations to prevent unplanned downtime.

Second shift (2pm-10pm) with occasional overtime; pay rate $33.38-$36.27/hr plus $0.75 shift diff, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational focus preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years in a similar maintenance role; level determined by plant.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical schematics and PLC logic.
• Capability to perform electrical work per NFPA 70E.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain, install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to zero repeat failures.
• Drive preventive/predictive maintenance and participate in process improvements.
• Document maintenance activities in CMMS and update asset history.
• Collaborate with operations to resolve equipment issues affecting safety, quality, or production.
