Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to lead the maintenance team at a multifamily property. You will diagnose and repair complex issues, mentor junior technicians, support the Service Manager, and ensure safety, function, and high-quality service for residents.

You will guide preventive maintenance, monitor building and security systems, participate in on‑call rotations, and document work while reporting recurring issues to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Advanced maintenance skills across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliances.
• Ability to mentor staff and lead maintenance operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service abilities.
• Willingness to participate in on-call and emergency response schedules.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support Service Technicians and assist in leading maintenance operations.
• Serve as acting lead in the Service Manager's absence.
• Diagnose and repair advanced issues across building systems.
• Address unsafe conditions and drive timely corrective actions.
• Monitor and report on building and security systems (doors, cameras).
• Perform and oversee preventative maintenance on HVAC and equipment.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.
• Respond to on-site resident emergencies and on-call rotations.
• Provide high-quality customer service to residents.
• Document all work and report recurring issues.
