Cortland seeks a Service Manager to lead a maintenance team at a multifamily community. You will oversee all maintenance operations, implement preventive programs, manage workflow, and ensure resident satisfaction and asset preservation with strong technical and leadership skills.

The role requires 3–5+ years of maintenance experience, EPA/CPO certifications, and a valid driver’s license, with availability for evenings and on‑call rotations.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC; Multifamily experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or college coursework preferred.
• Leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and manage a maintenance team.
• Universal EPA and CPO certifications are required.
• Valid Class E driver’s license.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations including EPA, OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Strong customer‑service and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and participate in on‑call rotations as needed.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting, climbing, and working indoors/outdoors.

Responsabilités

• Lead maintenance team to ensure safety and function of a multimillion‑dollar multifamily community.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, service requests, and budget planning.
• Mentor and train technicians, enforce safety protocols and company standards.
• Manage on‑call rotations and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate with vendors and maintain inventory and records.
• Inspect work and step in for hands‑on repairs when needed.
