Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Service Manager to lead the maintenance team for a multifamily community. You will oversee all maintenance operations, guide preventative programs, and manage staffing to ensure safety, reliability, and resident satisfaction.

Strong technical expertise and leadership are essential to drive asset preservation and high performance. The role demands experience across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems, plus a track record of safety compliance and customer service

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• EPA and CPO certifications are required.
• Valid Class E driver’s license and knowledge of safety laws.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex maintenance issues across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and structural systems.
• Lead maintenance technicians, supervise daily tasks, and ensure quality work and safety compliance.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, service requests, and inventory; supervise on‑call rotations when needed.
• Oversee budget, vendors, and supply chain; inspect and document maintenance activity.
