Job summary

Ocado Group is hiring a Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead reactive and planned maintenance on mechanical handling equipment at a Customer Fulfillment Center. The role includes fixing breakdowns, recording activities, and coordinating with inbound, pick and dispatch teams to optimize operations.

Applicants should have at least five years in electrical/mechanical roles, strong electrical knowledge, and experience with automation hardware and CMMS.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree in electrical or mechanical discipline.
• Minimum of five years direct experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
• Strong electrical experience in FMCG environments.
• Experience with controls and fault analysis.
• Experience with reactive and preventative maintenance.
• Excellent organization and communication in a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Comfortable working at heights with access equipment.
• Good automation hardware/software knowledge.
• Proficient with CMMS and reporting tools.
• Numerate and PC literate (G-Suite, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• React to MHE breakdowns, locate faults, and complete timely fixes.
• Maintain accurate work records and parts usage.
• Coordinate with inbound, pick, and dispatch teams to align labor.
• Mentor assigned maintenance engineers and supervise tasks.
• Perform assemblies and repairs from schematics and blueprints.
• Improve machine reliability through cross‑functional collaboration.
• Attend meetings, analyze data, and drive performance improvements.
• Support installation and commissioning projects.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure safe standards.
