Job summary

Ocado Group, a global online grocery leader, seeks a Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead reactive and planned maintenance on mechanical handling equipment at the Customer Fulfillment Center. You will fix breakdowns, keep records, mentor engineers, and coordinate with inbound, dispatch, and other teams to ensure high availability.

Expect 6–9 weeks of initial training with travel to North America, and a shift pattern including nights and weekends as operations scale.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree in electrical or mechanical discipline or advanced training.
• Minimum of five years experience in mechanical or electrical field.
• Strong electrical experience preferable in FMCG environment.
• Experience with controls, fault analysis and solutions.
• Experience with reactive and preventative maintenance.
• Strong organization and communication skills in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Work at heights using access equipment.
• Good technical ability relating to automation hardware/software.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Numerate and PC literate (G-Suite and MS Office).

Responsibilities

• React to MHE breakdowns, locate fault, fix promptly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of work, parts, and activities.
• Align priorities and monitor KPIs to support optimized service.
• Coordinate with inbound, pick and dispatch teams daily.
• Mentor assigned maintenance engineers.
• Perform assemblies and repairs following instructions, blueprints, schematics.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve machine reliability.
• Attend meetings, analyze data, and propose solutions for equipment performance.
• Participate in projects to install and commission engineering equipment.
• Complete quality inspections to ensure safety standards.
