Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Norwalk, IA is seeking a Maintenance Electrician Subject Matter Expert (MESME) to lead electrical/instrumentation/automation maintenance efforts.

The role partners with the ARM and maintenance teams to ensure asset health, effective backlogs, and safety compliance across plant operations. The MESME will drive reliability initiatives, mentor technicians, and maintain regulatory licensure while ensuring quality, safety, and process improvements in a fast-paced food

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience as a maintenance electrician in manufacturing.
• Electrical license or related certification required.
• Trained in NEC code to master level.
• Experience with SAP and control panels.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical/instrumentation/automation maintenance teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Develop and implement maintenance and reliability projects.
• Coordinate with corporate reliability and plant teams for real-time data.
• Manage CMMS backlog and scheduling of critical assets.
• Mentor technicians and provide training on maintenance practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMPs, and food quality policies.
