Job summary

Atlas Air Worldwide is seeking a Maintenance Controller to manage and control maintenance operations on a shift basis, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable aircraft status. You will be the primary contact for aircraft out of service and coordinate with fleet management to develop action plans.

Qualifications

• Airframe and Powerplant License required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the airline industry, preferably with wide‑body aircraft.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and administrate workloads.
• Able to read wiring diagrams, structural repair manuals, maintenance manuals and illustrated parts catalogs.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with Microsoft Windows based computer software applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates maintenance, tooling and parts support for maintenance activities with vendors and internal departments.
• Coordinates parts and manpower for engine/aircraft repair beyond vendor capability and monitors progress to completion.
• Coordinates with Line/Major Maintenance, Engineering and Manufacturing on maintenance issues.
• Manages implementation of repair action plans.
• Has authority to remove an aircraft from service if maintenance work is not completed satisfactorily.
• Provides technical guidance to maintenance personnel and is available for consultation on technical/operational matters.
• Researches SDR reports and works with FAA liaison for follow‑up as requested.
• Analyzes problem areas and recommends corrective action with maintenance vendors, engineering and flight crews.
• Identifies chronic aircraft problems and develops action plans for repair.
