Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Development, Senior Associate to support Medicare Fee for Service claims processing and maintain legacy mainframe systems (COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM) in a SAFe/Agile setting.

You will design, code, test, and debug enhancements, participate in maintenance activities, and provide accurate estimates while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure stability and quality of service.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of mainframe development experience.
• Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
• Experience in Agile/SCRUM and SAFe environments.
• Ability to estimate tasks and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, unit test, and debug enhancements for the Medicare claims system.
• Maintain and support legacy mainframe components in a structured environment.
• Collaborate with the Agile team to resolve defects and implement changes.
• Provide time and resource estimates for assigned tasks and projects.
• Work with clients, vendors, and teams to ensure operational stability.
