Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Development, Senior Associate to support the Medicare Fee-for-Service claims processing system in a structured development environment that emphasizes Agile practices. You will work on legacy mainframe components (COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM) and contribute to maintenance and operations within a SAFe/Agile framework.

The role focuses on stability, defect resolution, and interfaces with clients and teams.

Qualifications

Education and experience as specified: BS/BA or HS with six years' experience.
2–5 years of mainframe development experience.
Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
Experience in a structured development environment; Agile/SCRUM awareness.
SAFe experience/certification preferred; ability to obtain Public Trust clearance; US citizenship.

Responsibilities

Designs, codes, unit tests, and debugs enhancements to the health claims processing system.
Participates as a key development team member for maintenance and operations.
Completes development to implement complex components within a legacy mainframe environment.
Resolves defects and supports change requests to maintain operational stability.
Participates in maintenance solution design activities and technical reviews.
Provides time and resource estimates for assigned tasks and projects.
Delivers end-user or enterprise solutions of moderate complexity with general guidance.
