Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe Capacity & Performance Engineer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team. You will monitor, analyze, and optimize IBM z/OS mainframe resources to support healthcare, pharmacy, and retail applications.

The role requires expertise in capacity forecasting, workload management, real-time diagnostics, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across time zones. You will participate in on-call rotation and engage in performance testing and major business

Qualifications

5+ years in enterprise IBM mainframe environments (z/OS, IBM Z).
5+ years capacity planning, performance engineering, and production troubleshooting.
3+ years analyzing utilization trends, forecasting capacity, and workload optimization.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize enterprise mainframe resource utilization and performance across IBM z/OS environments.
Conduct capacity planning, forecasting, trend analysis, and real-time diagnostics to identify bottlenecks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify high-resource consumers and implement optimization strategies.
Deliver utilization reports and capacity recommendations to support investments and peak-business readiness (Open Enrollment, Welcome Season).
Provide technical leadership for testing, production support, incident response, and on-call rotations.
