Job summary

WorkScoop seeks an IT Specialist (GS-15) in Woodlawn, MD, with telework eligibility, for a permanent full-time role. Competitive pay in the GS-15 band and a flex-time schedule are offered.

The position requires providing strategic IT counsel, conducting analyses of SSA IT initiatives, and presenting actionable recommendations. Candidates must have GS-14+ experience and U.S. citizenship; no security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Customer Service – assess customer needs, provide information, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
• Oral Communication – clear and convincing presentations tailored to audience.
• Problem Solving – identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
• Specialized experience: GS-14+ level experience in support, design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex enterprise CICS, MQ, and DB2 systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and counsel to senior leaders on IT initiatives.
• Engineer studies and analyses to align SSA IT systems with mission and resolve performance problems.
• Lead or conduct analyses of proposed improvements to SSA operations.
• Prepare reports, memoranda, and oral briefings on long-range objectives and legislative options.
• Collaborate with intergovernmental groups to oversee and implement critical changes.
