Job summary

Accenture Flex is seeking an Application Support Engineer to act as a software detective, solving issues across critical business systems and leading cross-team efforts to restore stability. You will apply expert knowledge of mainframe environments, including Db2, CICS, MQ, and core tools, while mentoring others and driving process improvements.

The role focuses on incident resolution, problem management, and delivering documented best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of work experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Engineering Support is required.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex software issues and develop solutions to maintain system stability and performance.
• Lead cross-team efforts to resolve critical incidents and minimize business impact.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring problems and proposing enhancements to processes and tools.
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to support team members.
• Develop and document best practices and SOPs to elevate service quality.
• Mainframe: Johnson Controls apps, CARMS Walker Interactive, ADMIN; Db2, CICS, MQ.
• Programming languages: IMS, Db2, COBOL, Java, CICS, MQ, Assembler.
• Knowledge of CA7, REXX, FTP, SFTP.
• Daily system integrity checks, cash feed reconciliation, interface feed checks.
• Report distribution and ad-hoc reporting.
