Job summary

Staffing Spot, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mainframe Technical Specialist to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise mainframe applications.

The role requires strong COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and z/OS expertise, along with excellent troubleshooting and production support capabilities. You will design and maintain IBM z/OS applications, analyze requirements, perform testing and deployment, and participate in incident analysis and on-call activities.

Qualifications

• Experience with IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
• Hands-on COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS development.
• Strong debugging and production-incident management skills.
• Knowledge of mainframe utilities ISPF/PDF, TSO, SDSF.
• Familiarity with source control and deployment tools Endevor, Changeman, Git, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications on IBM z/OS platforms.
• Develop and support COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and related technologies.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform development, debugging, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot production incidents; conduct root-cause analysis.
• Monitor performance; optimize batch and online processing.
• Maintain JCL procedures, batch jobs, utilities, and scheduling.
• Work with DB2 databases; perform SQL tuning and data analysis.
• Support CICS transactions and troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in upgrades, migrations, modernization, and releases.
• Prepare technical docs and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in on-call duties.
