Job summary

California State University, Chico is seeking a senior technical specialist in IT Support Services to provide advanced macOS and Linux endpoint support across desktops, labs, and instructional environments.

You will deliver high-level consultation, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management for macOS and Linux systems, ensuring endpoint security and adherence to campus policies while enabling research and teaching activities.

Qualifications

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of progressively responsible technical support experience, including advanced macOS or Linux administration.
Preference may be given to applicants with recent experience in Linux/macOS desktop management and enterprise IT environments.
IT certifications such as ITIL Foundations are advantageous.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced macOS and Linux endpoint support across IT-managed desktops and labs.
Offer high-level consultation, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management for macOS/Linux systems supporting instructional and research workloads.
Ensure endpoint security standards and institutional policies are implemented to enable academic activities.
