Job summary

Chime is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to own the macOS platform and drive endpoint management and device trust standards across our IT ecosystem. You will shape technical direction for macOS, Jamf Pro, and related tooling, partnering with Security and IT teams to keep laptops secure and productive.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience managing macOS at scale with enterprise MDM (e.g., Jamf Pro, Kandji, Mosyle) and/or open-source tooling (e.g., Munki, Puppet, Chef).
• AutoPkg: Production experience building and operating AutoPkg recipes, overrides, trust controls, and automated promotion into an enterprise MDM environment is required.
• Apple Platform Depth: In-depth understanding of Apple’s MDM protocol and Configuration Profile specifications, including the shift to Declarative Device Management.
• macOS Fundamentals: Knowledge of installers/packages, LaunchDaemons/Agents, and macOS security tooling (Endpoint Security Framework, SIP, Gatekeeper).
• Scripting: Proficiency in Python/Swift/Bash/Go for API interaction and automation.
• Security Model: Understanding of Zero Trust / BeyondCorp concepts and how endpoint posture impacts access decisions.
• Cross-Domain Judgment: Decisions spanning multiple systems balancing scalability, compliance, cost, maintainability.
• Working in Ambiguity: Ability to define problems and align stakeholders around a technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own Jamf Pro environment including configuration profiles, smart groups, policies, and MDM commands.
• Own AutoPkg-based software pipeline, recipes, overrides, trust verification, and automated import into Jamf; manage deployment and patching.
• Build automations and reusable tooling for IT engineers to adopt.
• Own zero-touch provisioning and device enrollment workflows.
• Use scripting and APIs to create integrations and reduce manual IT operations.
• Partner with Security to enforce a Zero Trust / device trust posture across the fleet.
• Mentor peers and lead cross-functional delivery across IT, Security, and People teams.
