Job summary

Swagelok in Strongsville, OH is hiring a Level III Machine Operator for our precision fluid-system manufacturing team. You will produce high-quality parts in a temperature-controlled facility on 1st shift, following SPS and quality procedures.

You will operate and set up equipment, perform changeovers, inspect parts with micrometers and calipers, troubleshoot issues, and mentor newer operators while maintaining safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 30 months of machining or manufacturing experience (or current Swagelok Level II).
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and metal cutting equipment including:
• Experience with machine set up, blueprint reading, and basic programming
• Troubleshooting machining equipment
• Knowledge of tooling in machining with ability to use form tools, shave tools, drills, reamers, thread rolling, cams, gears, and more
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve machining issues.

Responsibilities

• Follow SPS practices with daily shift start-up meetings and handoffs.
• Operate and changeover manufacturing equipment per standard work instructions.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Monitor machine outputs and adjust tooling for quality and efficiency.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machining issues independently.
• Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
• Document production activities and maintain records.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency or safety.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow safety procedures.
• Train and mentor less experienced operators.
