American International Group (AIG) is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Representations and Warranties - M&A Financial Lines to help protect clients and grow the business. You will conduct in-depth analysis of transactions, review documentation, negotiate indications and policies, and coordinate with clients, brokers, and advisory teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in M&A legal, underwriting, corporate finance or related business.
• Strong negotiating skills with sophisticated advisors, brokers and clients.
• Detailed understanding of complex corporate structuring and financing.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct background research on the parties to a transaction.
• Assess the client’s motivation for insurance coverage and its value to the deal.
• Review relevant agreements and documentation for risk assessment.
• Analyze risk in accordance with product line policies.
• Prepare and negotiate non-binding indications, policies and binder agreements.
• Interact with clients, advisors, brokers and deal professionals.
• Lead underwriting conference calls and manage the underwriting process.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and other advisors.
• Present preliminary findings to management.
• Participate in marketing transactional insurance products to clients and brokers.
• Develop marketing and informational materials.
• Refine the suite of transactional insurance products offered.
• Contribute to group strategy at the product line level.
