Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Chicago is seeking an Associate General Counsel, M&A to lead the legal strategy for major domestic and cross-border transactions, advise senior leadership, structure deals, conduct due diligence, and coordinate with business partners to maximize value while managing risk.

This highly visible role requires coordinating with North America and global teams, establishing governance standards, and guiding integration and separation efforts.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 15+ years of significant M&A experience.
• Experience leading complex domestic and cross-border transactions.
• Experience with consumer packaged goods / manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all legal aspects of complex domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
• Lead due diligence with internal and external experts across employment, IP, compliance, contracts, litigation, privacy, environmental, and regulatory disciplines.
• Advise executives on transaction structure, risk allocation, governance, and regulatory considerations.
• Develop and negotiate risk allocation mechanisms and post‑close integration plans.
• Partner with business leaders to realize transaction value while managing legal and operating risks.
