Job summary

General Mills is seeking a senior attorney with M&A experience to join its M&A legal practice group. The role will support strategic portfolio shaping activities, including acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, from negotiations to signing, closing and post-closing integration.

Ideal candidates will have significant M&A experience at a law firm or in-house, with strong project management and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and outside counsel under tight

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• At least 4 years of experience in M&A.
• Experience in large law firms or corporate legal departments preferred.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to achieve portfolio objectives via acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures.
• Coordinate with corporate M&A team and Center of Excellence; liaise with experts.
• Lead due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions.
• Prepare and negotiate transaction documents with outside counsel.
• Support post-signing matters, regulatory filings, closings, and integration planning.
• Advise on post-closing matters including ongoing integration or separation workstreams.
