Job summary

Harbinger is seeking a Sr. Design Release Engineer, LV in California to lead supplier management, review component specs, and manage ECOs and LV BOMs. You will ensure 12V/24V architectures integrate with HV systems and vehicle networks.

You’ll partner with Vehicle Integration, Firmware/Software and Manufacturing teams to deliver on-time releases, mitigate long-lead component risks, and maintain aggressive project schedules for prototypes and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, release engineering, or program management for automotive low voltage systems or wire harnesses.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Project Management: be the primary technical contact for LV component and wire harness suppliers, evaluate capabilities, review specs, guide through roadblocks and ensure quality standards.
• Design & Packaging Management: oversee 2D wiring diagrams, schematics, and 3D harness routing; ensure proper packaging within vehicle architecture with grounding, shielding, strain relief, and thermal considerations.
• Engineering Release Ownership: manage ECOs/ECRs and maintain BOM in PLM system across end-to-end lifecycle of electrical parts.
• Project Timeline Execution: develop and maintain aggressive schedules; identify risks, mitigate lead-time delays, and ensure on-time delivery for breadboard testing, prototypes, and production.
• Internal Design Collaboration: lead cross-functional reviews with Vehicle Integration, Firmware/Software, and Manufacturing teams to ensure LV integration with HV systems and vehicle network.
