Job summary

Harbinger in Garden Grove, CA is seeking a Design Release Engineer for frame systems. You will lead 3D CAD modeling, frame packaging, and integration of frame rails, crossmembers, and mounting hardware to support high-voltage batteries and e‑drives.

You will own engineering releases, manage ECOs/ECRs and BOMs in the PLM, collaborate with CAE/FEA and durability teams, and drive schedules for tooling and prototype builds to achieve SOP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/automotive/structural engineering.
• 3+ years in structural/chassis/frame design in automotive or related industry.
• Proficiency with CATIA and PLM/BOM systems.
• Strong knowledge of structural mechanics, materials and GD&T.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and tooling timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and packaging of frame structures, ensuring stiffness and space for high-voltage components.
• Manage suppliers and manufacturing, guide DFM, ensure quality standards.
• Oversee end-to-end release of frame hardware with ECOs/ECRs and BOMs.
• Support durability testing and root-cause analysis.
• Develop project schedules for long-lead tooling and ensure SOP.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews for system integration.
