Job summary

Slate Auto in the USA is seeking a Senior Wiring Release Engineer to drive electrical system requirements for our battery electric vehicles. You will lead Tier 1 suppliers and work with cross-functional teams to define interfaces and ensure robust harness design.

The role demands hands-on engineering leadership, experience with LV / HV systems and CAN/LIN/Ethernet, and a track record of DFMEA, DVP&R and PPAP in automotive programs.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in vehicle electrical systems.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented with HV and LV experience.
• Experience with harness development tools and supplier leadership.
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS and A2B protocols.
• PPAP, FMEA, control plans experience.
• Knowledge of FMVSS/Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical system for fully electric vehicles.
• Lead Tier 1 suppliers and coordinate harness development.
• Define interface information for electrical system design.
• Lead design reviews and system timing alignment.
• Create DFMEA and DVP&R and ensure cost targets.
• Test, rework and debug wiring on prototypes and pre-prod vehicles.
• Maintain ED&D budgets, weights and quality targets.
• Apply LEAN engineering methodologies.
